Pierce Turner is a world renowned musician and was even voted Ireland's Solo Performer of the Year in 94. Story-telling has always been in his performances, and in his family.
He has always written the stories down, but has been cautious about publishing, and couldn't go through the publishing mill. He had already endured that in the music world.
He was raised as the youngest of six children on the quay front in Wexford town, so the river tends to run through everything in these stories, hence the title 'Living by the River'.
His mothers father ,Jem Roche, fought for the world heavyweight title. He and all of his children were musician/story tellers (playwright Billy Roche is grandson too) it was a colourful world to live in. The stories are all real, Love-Death-Humour-mishaps-misunderstandings-atmosphere-tenderness.
