Red Books to run ‘Book Fringe Festival’

Red Books will run its own fringe festival this year during the annual Wexford Opera Festival. The Book Fringe will feature four local book launches, an art exhibition, a presentation of rare incunbula, a chess tournament, poetry, spoken-word, music, history, comedy, horror and the annual Wexford Book Fair. Submissions open for Wexford Bohemian #5

The flagship publication of Red Books Press has open submissions for issue 5. The Wexford Bohemian was launched in 2020 and, through four epic editions, has highlighted the works of over one hundred and fifty writers and artists. The Bohemian is a literary journal based in Wexford town. Founded in Red Books, Wexford's own eccentric independent bookstore, The Wexford Bohemian was inspired by the roots of several Irish anthologies along with the City Lights Pocket Poets Series. My Red Books Experience

My experience in Red Books goes beyond the word ‘positive’. I can probably go on and on, spouting a wordy review, such as one you would find about a poncy gallery or restaurant, written by someone who speaks rather eloquently or posh or whatever, I’m guilty of the latter on occasion. A new Red Books outpost is opening in Gorey town on Wednesday the 1st of March.   We are delighted to be opening the new Red Books with our friends in the existing Hawthorne & Mayblossom vintage shop at 2 Rafter Street (Beside Pettitt's), giving us the perfect blend of books and antique jewellery.
