Live Literature events kick off at Red Books

A string of fringe events will take place at Wexford independent bookstore Red Books during the Wexford Opera Festival. Owner Wally O’ Neill said that the events would be ‘live literature’, an attempt to bring books alive and put their merit at the centre of artistic expression. “We are lucky to have twelve live events coming up in the bookstore over the festival,” Wally said. “These events are provided by the artistic community that has evolved around Red Books, including writers, poets, historians, film-makers and musicians. Two hundred people attended the opening of a extension to a Red Books in Wexford's St Peter’s Square last Tuesday evening. Bronagh 1st edition is a sell out

A debut novel by young Wexford author AoifeRose O' Brien has become a sellout hit. "Bronagh" is the story of a young woman who survives an act of sexual violence as a child and now her past tortures her present. Wexford Women Writing Undercover #2 launched in Wexford

The second edition of Wexford Women Writing Undercover was launched in an interactive zoom performance last night. The event was presided over by Undercover editor Deirdre McGarry and saw famed Wexford director Laura Way launch the edition.
